Overview of Addiction Treatment Program
At LA Outpatient, we have a full continuum of care, starting with detoxification and continuing through inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. Every addiction treatment program at LA Outpatient is customizable and caters to the individuals specific needs. Individuals will participate only at the level of care that is necessary for long term success.
At LA Outpatient, we have a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, therapists, and wellness counselors. The goal of our addiction treatment programs consists of the following objectives:

- To empower individuals to achieve and maintain progress & growth
- To help individuals discover a sense of purpose
During your time at LA Outpatient, you will work with an assigned psychiatrist, licensed therapist, nurse practitioner and other addiction experts in order to help you in your goals of achieving addiction recovery. We place great emphasis on individualized, personal treatment and will work with you to develop a treatment plan that caters to your needs. We will ask you to take ownership of your recovery and participate in the necessary therapeutic practices to move you forward.
Levels of Care at LA Outpatient
At LA Outpatient, we offer the following levels of care. However, an individual does not need to complete all levels of care in order to participate in our addiction treatment program.
Detoxification - LA Outpatient provides detox programs to help individuals safely wean or taper off their substance of choice through 24/7 medical supervision and ongoing clinical and medical support. A medical detox is a process by which medications and are used to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Medications are administered to patients by a team of highly skilled medical staff.
Inpatient Treatment – Inpatient treatment is an intensive experience that includes round-the-clock care and a variety of therapeutic activities including individual, group, and family therapy. Clients live at the facility and are supported by a clinical and medical team 24/7.
Inpatient treatment programs offer a safe, structured, controlled environment that help individuals overcome their addiction. Inpatient treatment is one of the most common ways for people to treat their drug addiction. There is a set schedule which consist of therapies, counseling sessions, support groups, meals, and activities.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – The goal of a PHP program is to allow recovery from addiction to take place in an environment in which the individual can then transition back into a normal life.
The program length of a PHP program will vary depending on your individual circumstance. Most programs are 30, 60, or 90 days. However, it is important that the treatment center develop an individualized treatment plan to best determine how long an individual should attend a partial hospitalization program.
While in PHP, clients participate in therapy Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Types of treatment in PHP include medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, and therapeutic recreational activities.
Intensive outpatient program (IOP) – An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a part-time treatment program designed to accommodate work and daily life with your recovery. IOP’s design an individualized treatment plan that will help you identify and work on short-term goals, as well, as intermediate goals, and long term goals. The focus of an IOP program is to help you remove and identify the sources of stress that are causing you to abuse alcohol or drugs.
During IOP, individuals are grouped in treatment teams and assigned to a physician, a primary therapist, and a licensed psychologist. Intensive outpatient treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, psychotherapy, life-skills, and educational sessions.
Types of Therapies at LA Outpatient
Depending upon a number of individual factors, including your medical and clinical history, individual needs and goals, as well as the levels of care in which you participate in treatment – an individualized treatment plan will be created for you while you attend LA Outpatient.
Assessment: In order to develop an individualized treatment plan – a thorough assessment must be conducted by our medical and clinical staff in order to prepare you for your recovery journey. A detailed analysis of your assessment will be conducted and a treatment plan will be put in place.
Medication Management: For some individuals, prescription medications have been effective in helping achieve recovery from drug addiction. In many cases of drug addiction, there are other co-occurring disorders that present – like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Medications help to alleviate symptoms and can be a positive impact on your recovery.
Individual Therapy – Individual therapy is a type of therapy in which an individual meets with a licensed therapist in order to process success, goals, and setbacks. Individual therapy helps to provide guidance to our clients in helping them achieve their recovery goals.
Group Therapy – Group therapy is a therapy session led by an experienced and listened addiction counselors which help individuals learn more about the disorders that have impacted their life. Group therapy sessions help individuals develop coping skills, process thoughts and insights, and learn from the experience of others who are going through the same thing as them.
Family Therapy – In most instances, the family or loved ones are effected by an individual’s addiction and behaviors. Family can be a strong, supportive community that can help an individual achieve lasting recovery. Family therapy is utilized when clinically appropriate to ensure the family has education and guidance on their loved ones addiction.
Discharge Planning–Discharge planning is an important part of any treatment plan. After an individual has completed our drug addiction treatment program – it is important for them to receive a detailed discharge plan that will document professional referrals and resources in order to help the client achieve lasting recovery.
